Quality 2011 Property Assessments 2011 Inflation Rate Multiplier is 1.017% for Lake Charter Township, Berrien County, Bridgman, Michigan. If there have not been any physical changes in your property you can arrive at your 2011 taxable value by multiplying 2010 taxable value by 1.017 and this will give you your taxable value for 2011. If you had a physical change, the application is 2010 Taxable Value (-losses) x 1.017 + additions, if any. Assessors Notice LAKE CHARTER TOWNSHIP AWARDED $50,000 ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANT Lake Charter Township will receive a $50,000 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant from the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth. This grant was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allocated to the State of Michigan for use on projects geared toward increasing energy efficiency. The grant will be used for two purposes. First, security lighting at the water treatment plant will be upgraded to higher efficiency fixtures which will result in lower electric bills. The Township will solicit bids for the lighting upgrades as soon as bid documents are completed. Second, subsidies will be offered to customers
of the water treatment plant who wish to have a
residential energy audit performed on their
homes. The detailed energy audits will help home
owners to reduce their energy bills by
identifying areas of heat loss and energy
wasting appliances and fixtures in the home. The
audits will give an itemized list of
improvements to help homeowners implement cost
savings. Anyone interested in having an energy
audit performed on their home can pick up an
informational brochure at the Township Hall or
they can call Wightman & Associates, Inc., at
(269) 927-0100.
The subsidy program will expire in November of
2010, or when the funds set aside for the audits
have been exhausted. To be eligible for a
subsidy, the following conditions must be met.
The address must be served by water from the
Lake Township Water Treatment Plant. The home
owner must pay for 50% of the cost of the audit.
And, only Wightman & Associates, Inc., is
