For a second attempt, Bridgman Public Schools is holding a Special Bond Election for $22 million in improvements on November 3, 2009. The district plans to upgrade technology for students and renovate all three school buildings if the bonding is approved. The levy is for 1.5 mills. The last day to register to be eligible to vote in this election is September 28, 2009.

A new Michigan Appeals Court Ruling, MCL 168.759 (5), no longer allows the mailing of absent voter ballot applications to everyone age 60 years or older. If you wish to have an absent voter ballot mailed to you, you must request it in writing to Gloria Payne, Lake Charter Township Clerk, P.O. Box 818, Bridgman, Michigan 49106. You will then be placed on the permanent absent voter registration list and one will be mailed to you for each and every election after you submit your request in writing. If you vote in person, you are required to bring your photo identification with you to the polls. If you do not wish to produce your photo ID, you may fill out an affidavit form. One will be provided for you on election day.
