LAKE CHARTER TOWNSHIP
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
February 10, 2005
12:00 Noon


MEMBERS PRESENT
Board members present were John Gast, Supervisor, Gloria Payne, Clerk; Betty Korcek, Treasurer; Tom Carson, Trustee; William "Bill" Geukes, Trustee; Fritz Wolf, Trustee and Terry Eichler, Trustee. Five visitors were present.

AGENDA
(a) Employment Considerations and Overview of Job Descriptions Compensation Consideration
Supervisor Gast brought before board members the job descriptions of the Meter Reader, Fire Chief and Parks & Maintenance positions.

Fire Chief
After discussion, it was moved by Korcek seconded by Wolf to accept the discussed changes to the Fire Chief's job description, offer the position as a part-time, salaried position and look internally first. Further, take a survey of Fire Chief position in surrounding Berrien County Departments and then determine what salary to pay. All ayes, motion carried.

Water Meter Reader
After discussion, it was moved by Payne seconded by Carson to accept the Water Meter Reader's job description with discussed changes, post the position internally first and have the Board determine the pay.
All ayes, motion carried.

Parks & Maintenance
After discussion it was determined to have existing personnel, Dave Williams and Toby Ernsberger gauge how much time it takes to mow the Park.

(b) Reappointment of Board of Review
Supervisor Gast recommended reappointment of three Board of Review members. Peter (Drew) Menser, David Zilke and Dale Sorget for two year terms beginning January 1, 2005. It was moved by Wolf seconded by Geukes to reappoint Peter (Drew) Menser, David Zilke and Dale Sorget to the Board of Review for two year terms beginning January 1, 2005. All ayes, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.

ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Carson seconded by Eicherl to adjourn the meeting. All ayes, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 1:54 p.m.
